SRS Architecture and Interior Design

A couple of lessons ago, our class was asked to pair up or form a group with students that have similar intended major fields (Architecture in my case) and to create an advertisement. I worked with Samson, who intends to study Architecture, and Rong, who intends to study Interior Design to complete this task.

We had a walk around campus and captured a couple of photos which we hoped would help inspire us with our final piece.

Then, we decided to make a logo of "our" Architecture and Interior Design Firm as our final piece. Luckily I have brief knowledge about designing logos which helped us as a group design this piece.

We researched Architecture and Interior Design logos, and found a logo that inspired us to create the final piece.

I was in love with the pixelated/Lego effect. It created a subliminal message that this firm is able to put everything together whether it was similar or not, to create anything you want. I also loved the choice of colours. They are very vibrant which may indicate the creating and design of new modern buildings.

We went ahead and sketched out a couple of ideas for our logo and this is what we came up with.

We then modified it on photoshop, using different tools and came up with this final logo!

SRS stands for Shouq, Rong and Samson. The distorted effect on the left side of the building shows that we are able to create something from nothing, and the pixelated building tells people that we are able to put things together to create any sort of building. The choice of colours were calm harmonious colours. They represent our style of buildings and interior, which are classic designs.

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Shouq and I am an Art and Design student. This blog will mainly contain Architecture related posts as it is the major I'd like to get into after I complete my foundation course.

The beauty of buildings has always fascinated me. There’s so much more than just a pretty building, and that triggered my curiosity making me want to know all about the process behind it. It grew from not only being just an interest, but to a passion and something I want to pursue in my life. Hopefully I will be able to share my passion and reflective thoughts with my viewers and have everyone enjoy it.
